Graves and a fragment of a sarcophagus were documented 50 m southwest of the excavation area in a survey of the old cemetery of Taiyiba village, 100 m west of Horbat Haddad and c. 50 m north of Khirbat et-Taiyiba (Tepper 2012). Hence, there was apparently a cemetery during the Roman and Byzantine periods north of Horbat Haddad and et-Taiyiba, and the sarcophagus unearthed in the current excavation was part of an ancient burial related to Khirbat et-Taiyiba or Horbat Haddad.
