Final Report

In 1995–1996 and 2000–2011, salvage excavations were conducted at Qurnat Haramiya (Permit Nos. A-2390 [Avner-Levi and Torgë 1999]; A-3608, A-3386, A-2474; map ref. 195880–6125/665920–6040), prior to the construction of a school in Rosh Ha-ʻAyin’s Mizpe Afeq neighborhood. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority, was directed by H. Torgë, R. Avner and Y. Zelinger. R. Kleter studied the clay figurines, G. Bijovsky identified the coins, O. Keel studied a stone seal, A. Golani studied the jewelry and E.C.M. van den Brink studied a basalt bowl from the Chalcolithic period. The excavation yielded the remains of a village from the Iron Age and the Persian–early Hellenistic periods.
