During May 2009, an excavation was conducted at a site along the southern bank of Nahal Be’er Sheva‘, within the precincts of the Nahal Be’er Sheva‘ Park (Bustan 3; Permit No. A-5647; map ref. 18147–50/57169–72), to prepare its opening to visitors. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and underwritten by the Shiqma-Besor Drainage Authority, was directed by A. Fraiberg, with the assistance of Y. Lender (administration), M. Kunin (surveying and drafting), A. Peretz (field photography) and N.S. Paran (IAA Be’er Sheva‘ district).
