The continuation of a drainage channel from the Abbasid period (depth 0.25 m; Fig. 2), which was revealed in the previous excavation, was exposed (Uziel 2013: Stratum II). A shallow channel was dug into the Byzantine garden soil (Stratum IV), plastered, and covered with stone slabs. The channel conveyed water from a building which was located east and south of the excavation, but was not exposed. In addition, the southern continuation of a north–south wall, built of fieldstones and dressed stones in secondary use was revealed (Uziel 2013: W1004; Stratum I, length 15.5 m, width 1 m, max. height 0.75 m).
