During July–August 2001, three squares were opened in the wake of damage caused to antiquities along the route of the Cross Israel Highway (Permit No. A-3473*; map ref. NIG 18887–900/64439–41; OIG 13887–900/14439–41). Four poorly preserved wall stumps that did not connect to or formed an overall building plan were discovered. The walls (thickness 0.50–0.75 m) were built of fieldstones with gray bonding material and were preserved to one or several courses high. No ceramic finds were found.
