Extended report

In March–April 2006, an excavation was carried out south of Moshav Yish’i, on the eastern margins of Horbat Gannim (Kh. Umm Jina; A-4745; map ref. 195850/628180), prior to expanding the settlement. The excavation, undertaken by the Israel Antiquities Authority, was directed by O. Sion. Y. Rapuano studied the pottery, and R. Kool wrote the numismatic report. The excavation yielded the remains of a building, a ritual bath (miqveh), burial caves and installations. The finds date from the late Hellenistic period to the Mamluk period.
