During May 2011, a survey preceding development was conducted northeast of Moshav Sede Zevi (License No. S-274/2011; map ref. 174490/596230), prior to the planting of trees. The survey, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and underwritten by the Jewish National Fund, was performed by G. Seriy (field photography) and S. Gal (GPS).
The eastern part of the survey area (c. 100×1,000 m) extends along Nahal Zada (Fig. 1). The area is covered with low dense vegetation; numerous piles of construction debris are visible in the western part of the survey area. The survey was conducted on foot and potsherd scatterings dating to the Chalcolithic and Byzantine periods were documented.
