During 1995 and 1997 archaeological inspections were conducted at the site of the bathhouse in Mamilla (Permits Nos. A-2261*[first inspection], A-2598* [second inspection]; ESI 14) after heavy mechanical equipment severely damaged the antiquity remains. During the first inspection the construction of the large concrete piling that support the pedestrian bridge from the parking lot in the Mamilla compound to Jaffa Gate, was overseen. The second inspection was conducted after the bridge was built, when the soil overlying the archaeological remains was removed. On both occasions the surveying and documentation of the architectural remains of the bathhouse were completed.
