In May 2016, a salvage excavation was conducted northwest of Moshav ‘Idan in the Central ‘Arava (Permit No. A-7726; map ref. 225561–698/527056–184; Fig. 1), in preparation for the expansion of an agricultural area. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by Moshav ‘Idan, was directed By M.D. Pasternak (field photography), with the assistance of H. Hamer, G. Seriy and Y. Haimi.
The excavation examined a rectangular cluster of undressed medium-sized flint stones (L100; figs. 2–4). A level of sand and small flint stones that were placed on the ground was identified in a section excavated through the center of the cluster. No datable finds were found.
