In October 2015, a trial excavation was conducted c. 400 m south of Horbat Burgat Mishor, in the southern portion of the ‘Akko Plain (Permit No. A-7520; map ref. 211685-721/747541-92; Fig. 1), after antiquities were discovered during a preliminary examination prior to laying railway tracks. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the Yefe Nof Transportation, Infrastructure and Construction Company Ltd., was directed by E. Oren (photography), with the assistance of E. Bachar (administration), C. Ben-Ari (GPS), R. Mishayev (surveying and drafting) and L. Talmi.
