In March 2006, a salvage excavation was conducted at Horbat ‘Emed in the western Galilee, in groves belonging to Kibbutz Hanita (Permit No. A-4755; map ref. 7714/2131). The excavation, conducted on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by Kibbutz Hanita, was directed by H. Tahan-Rosen. Y. Gorin-Rosen studied the glass finds, and G. Bijovsky identified the coins. The excavation uncovered a building from the Late Byzantine Period.
