In October 2017, a salvage excavation was conducted near ‘En Tamar, 1 km west of the Dead Sea and a few meters southwest of Road 2499 (Permit No. A-8120; map. ref. 233095/544526), preparatory to laying a water pipeline. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and underwritten by the Mekorot Water Company, was directed by T. Erickson-Gini (field photography), with the assistance of E. Alajem (aerial photography and plan) and I. Lidsky-Reznikov (drawing of finds).
